Personal Care Aide

Beechwood Court is a nonprofit 46-bed Personal Care Community with a dedicated Personal Care Memory Care unit. We are looking for a Personal Care Aide to join our team.

About the Role

• The Personal Care Aide at Beechwood Court Personal Care plays a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for residents by providing compassionate and attentive support tailored to their individual needs.
• This position involves assisting clients with daily living activities, ensuring their comfort, safety, and dignity while promoting independence whenever possible.
• The aide will work closely with healthcare professionals and family members to implement care plans effectively and respond promptly to any changes in the resident's condition.
• Maintaining a clean and safe environment through strict adherence to infection control protocols is essential to protect both residents and staff.
• Ultimately, the Personal Care Aide contributes significantly to creating a supportive and nurturing atmosphere within the personal care community.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic knowledge of medical terminology relevant to personal care.
• Demonstrated ability to work with individuals with limited mobility.
• Strong understanding of infection control practices.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in an assisted living or long-term care setting.
• CPR and First Aid certification.
• Additional training in dementia care or chronic disease management.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with residents, families, and healthcare professionals.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support.
• Monitor and report any changes in residents’ health or behavior to nursing staff promptly.
• Implement infection control procedures to maintain a hygienic and safe environment.
• Provide emotional support and companionship to residents, fostering a positive and respectful relationship.
