The technologist performs diagnostic CT exams following established procedures, which includes verifying patient identity, obtaining medical history, explaining procedures, and acquiring appropriate images. They are also responsible for reviewing images, documenting observations, responding to medical emergencies, and providing post-care instructions to patients.
Candidates are required to have or successfully complete American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification by the end of orientation and possess one or more years of experience as a Radiologic Technologist or advanced certification in Computed Tomography. Registration by the ARRT in Radiology or CT is preferred.
