A high school diploma or GED is required, with a preference for graduates of an accredited Medical Assistant program. Candidates must have knowledge of medical coding and maintain confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA.

Our MAs collaborate with physicians and non-clinical staff to assure we are providing our community with comprehensive and compassionate health care. POSITION OVERVIEW: The Medical Assistant will be responsible for daily patient flow for each respective physician for whom they work. Must use triage skills to gather information from which designated staff can make appropriate patient health assessments and to anticipate physician's needs as they relate to the patients' medical care. This position does not manage any other caregivers. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES: Escorts patients to exam rooms and prep for physician assessment. Records and maintains patient's medical data in patient's medical chart. Assists physician with answering phone requests from patients and/or other medical professionals and institutions. Performs a variety of physician-requested ancillary and/or surgical patient procedures. (This excludes the administration of IV medication.) Maintains equipment, instruments supply inventory levels. Supports the vision, mission, and values of the organization in all respects. Supports Lean principles of continuous improvement with energy and enthusiasm, functioning as a champion of change. Provides and maintains a safe environment for caregivers, patients, and guests. Conducts all activities with the highest standards of professionalism and confidentiality.
