The Chaplain serves as a member of the interdisciplinary team, focusing on meeting the spiritual needs of patients, families, caregivers, and staff, including volunteers. This involves providing pastoral care interventions, such as counseling, based on spiritual assessment and sensitivity to diverse beliefs.
The role requires excellence in pastoral care, demanding an authentic demeanor, compassion, and skill in navigating the spiritual dynamics associated with illness, loss, and death. The individual must be committed to professionalism, teamwork, and continuous growth within the hospice mission.
