Position Summary

Gateway Regional Medical Center is seeking a detail-oriented and patient-focused EKG Stress Technician to support cardiac diagnostic and stress testing services.

In this role, you will work closely with cardiologists and interdisciplinary teams to perform cardiac testing, monitor patients throughout procedures, and support efficient coordination of cardiovascular services.

• What you'll do
• Prepare and support patients for cardiac stress testing procedures
• Obtain patient history and identify contraindications before testing
• Monitor patient condition before, during, and after procedures
• Perform EKG testing and collect accurate cardiac data
• Apply and educate patients on Holter monitor use
• Transmit and manage Holter monitor data and reports
• Assist with scheduling, pre-certification, charge capture, and documentation processes
• Coordinate testing with cardiology, imaging, and clinical teams
• Obtain IV access as needed and support medication coordination
• Maintain accurate records and support quality improvement initiatives
• Follow infection prevention and patient safety standards

What we're looking for

• Education
• High school diploma or equivalent required

• Licensure & certifications
• Current BLS certification required (AHA or American Red Cross)

Experience

Preferred

• Knowledge of cardiac dysrhythmias and cardiac stress testing protocols
• Ability to recognize abnormal cardiac rhythms
• IV therapy experience
• Familiarity with cardiac medications and/or radiopharmaceuticals
• Strong computer and documentation skills
