This role involves providing direct patient care and performing unit clerical duties for the department, administering care under the direction of a Clinical Nurse and supporting the patient care team. Responsibilities also include maintaining a clean environment, assisting visitors and physicians, and potentially scheduling tests or providing continuous observation.
Candidates must possess a High School Diploma or GED and require previous comparable acute patient care experience or successful completion of the IU Health PCA education program. Essential requirements include current Basic Life Support certification, basic knowledge of medical terminology, understanding of patient care procedures, and basic computer skills.
