Assists in the planning, set-up, and delivery of therapeutic radiation doses under the direction of physicians and physicists. Responsibilities include performing simulations, fabricating immobilization devices, and maintaining detailed treatment records.
Requires graduation from a 2-year Radiation Therapist Program and NYS Licensure or a permit to obtain licensure within six months. ARRT certification is preferred.
Performs simulations for treatment under the direction of the Radiation Oncologist. Correctly fabricates immobilization devices and custom shielding as necessary. Delivers the therapeutic doses of Radiation according to the prescription written by the Radiation Oncologist. Takes port films, labels and has them checked appropriately. Under the direction of the medical physicist, ensures Quality Control Procedures on equipment. Records in treatment records, including dose addition, documentation of port films, adjustments in prescriptions, diagrams, blocking and landmarks. Schedules patient appointments. Keeps daily Log Sheets, including documentation of inpatients, finishes, new courses, new patients, electron patients and non-malignant cases. Keeps records necessary for department statistics. Participates in the clinical instruction of Radiation Therapy students. Performs other duties as assigned. REQUIRED

PAY RANGE: $35.00 - $48.00 CITY: Potsdam POSTAL CODE: 13676 The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant. It may be modified in the future and eligible for additional pay components.
