The Polysomnographer performs diagnostic sleep studies, which involves preparing the patient and equipment, conducting interviews, and monitoring patients throughout the testing process. Responsibilities also include applying monitoring devices, recording calibrations, analyzing data, interpreting results, and reporting findings.
Candidates must be able to perform all primary responsibilities, including constant alertness and safe operation, along with frequent physical activities like standing, walking, lifting up to 25 lbs, and data entry. Required credentials include Basic Life Support (BLS HCP) and either Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) or Registered Sleep Technologist (RST) certification.
