The Registered Nurse is independently responsible and accountable for prescribing, delegating, and coordinating patient care, utilizing clinical judgment to develop appropriate care plans aimed at promoting comfort. This role also involves overseeing the care delivered by the patient care team and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to implement comprehensive plans that meet patient and family needs.
Candidates must possess at least one year of registered nursing experience and hold a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). Required certifications include a current Texas RN license, Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers, and department-specific requirements like PALS/NRP/ACLS and PACES certification within specified timeframes.
Independently performs the functions of a registered nurse in direct patient care. Utilizes the nursing process in the delivery of developmentally appropriate care. Also works in collaboration with other health care professionals to provide a comprehensive plan of care to meet the patient/family needs. Critical care settings are defined as intensive care units and/or emergency department.
