The Registered Nurse independently performs direct patient care functions, utilizing the nursing process to deliver developmentally appropriate care. Responsibilities include prescribing, delegating, and coordinating patient care based on clinical judgment and evidence-based guidelines to promote comfort.
A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is required, along with at least one year of experience as a Registered Nurse. Candidates must possess a current Texas nursing license and obtain required certifications like BLS, PALS/NRP/ACLS, and PACES certification within specified timeframes.
Independently performs the functions of a registered nurse in direct patient care. Utilizes the nursing process in the delivery of developmentally appropriate care. Also works in collaboration with other health care professionals to provide a comprehensive plan of care to meet the patient/family needs. Critical care settings are defined as intensive care units and/or emergency department.
