The Optometrist diagnoses, manages, and treats conditions and diseases of the human eye and visual system, including examining eyes, diagnosing impairments, and prescribing corrective lenses or therapeutic drugs. Essential functions involve conducting eye exams, diagnosing and treating ocular disease, prescribing aids, analyzing test results, and educating patients on proper eye care.
Candidates must possess a Doctorate of Optometry (O.D.) and a minimum of 2 years of experience as an optometrist, along with NBEO certification, a current Michigan O.D. License, and a DEA License. Basic Life Support Certification is also required for this role.

SUMMARY Under the direct supervision of the Chief Medical Officer and in conjunction with the Clinical Director, the Optometrists diagnoses, manages and treats conditions and diseases of the human eye and visual system. Examines eyes and visual system, diagnoses problems or impairments, prescribes corrective lenses and provides treatment. May prescribe therapeutic drugs to treat specific eye conditions. Care is provided to individuals and families regardless of age, race or sex.
