The Radiology Tech operates various digital stationary and mobile radiographic equipment to produce quality radiographs, performing routine and special procedures under the direct supervision of the Manager of Radiology. Responsibilities include determining patient positioning and exposure times, ensuring proper identification of radiographs, and maintaining accurate records within the Cerner EMR and PACS systems.
Candidates must possess a High School Diploma and satisfactory completion of an AMA Council on Medical Education approved School of Radiologic Technology, along with current registration by the ARRT and licensure by the Illinois Department of Nuclear Safety. Required experience includes 3+ years, specifically in Neurosurgery, Orthopedic Surgery, and General Surgery, in addition to holding current BLS/CPR certification.

These duties are to be performed in a highly confidential manner, following the mission, values, and behaviors of Insight Hospital and Medical Center. Under the direct supervision of the Manager, Radiology, the Radiology Tech performs professional duties in areas, sections, or department as assigned. Performs routine radiographic procedures and a variety of technical procedures requiring special handling; applied prescribed radiation for radiologic diagnosis, radiographic procedures, and radiographic special procedures on individuals ranging in age from infancy to geriatrics.
