The Certified Medical Assistant prepares patients for examinations, administers injections, performs various medical tests like EKGs and laboratory procedures, and handles clinical documentation support in a physician's office. Responsibilities also include arranging diagnostic testing, managing appointments, and potentially performing telephone triage under supervision.
A minimum requirement is a High School Diploma or equivalent along with completion of a qualified Medical Assistant course, plus current certification as a Medical Assistant and Basic Life Support. Preferred experience includes one or more years in a Medical Office or previous patient care in the specialty area.
The Certified Medical Assistant assists in preparation for patient care, provides care coordination, clinical documentation, and other clinical support functions in a physician practice office setting.
High School Diploma or equivalent and completion of qualified Medical Assistant course.
License/Certification Requirements • Minimum: Certified or Registered Medical Assistant and Basic Life Support (American Heart Association)
