The Certified Medical Assistant prepares patients for examination, administers injections, performs various medical tests like EKGs, and handles clinical documentation support within a physician practice setting. Responsibilities also include arranging diagnostic testing, managing some front office duties, and performing required procedures like phlebotomy.
Candidates must have a High School Diploma or equivalent and completion of a qualified Medical Assistant course, along with current Certified or Registered Medical Assistant status and Basic Life Support certification. While no minimum experience is required, one or more years of Medical Office experience is preferred.
The Certified Medical Assistant assists in preparation for patient care, provides care coordination, clinical documentation, and other clinical support functions in a physician practice office setting.

License/Certification Requirements • Minimum: Certified or Registered Medical Assistant and Basic Life Support (American Heart Association)
