The Personal Care Assistant assists functionally, physically, and/or socially impaired older residents with activities of daily living while fostering independence and freedom of choice. Responsibilities include health monitoring, dining assistance, activity program participation, and administrative tasks consistent with assisted living philosophy.
Candidates must be able to think, act, and intervene independently in routine and emergency situations, functioning as a self-motivated person in charge. Required qualifications include CPR certification, First Aid, and being a State Tested Nursing Assistant in Ohio.
The Personal Care Assistant assists older people who are functionally, physically, and or socially impaired and need 24-hour oversight. The Personal Care Assistant’s role is to assist residents with those activities of daily living that they are unable to perform without help, fostering at all times residents’ independence and freedom of choice. All responsibilities will be conducted in a manner that is consistent with the philosophy or assisted living.
Personal Care Coordinator - 3rd shift 10: 30pm-6:30am
Must be able to think, act, and intervene independently in both routine and emergency situations. Must be self-motivated and function as an “in charge person.”
Must be able to relate to residents and staff in a courteous and diplomatic manner under all circumstances.
Must be able to work flexible hours and participate in holiday activities.
CPR certification.
Medication Assistance.
Demonstrates an appreciation of the heritage, values, and wisdom of the residents and an understanding of the aging process.
Attends and participated in staff meetings.
Participates in in-service, projects or committees as assigned.
Assists with quality assurance programs when indicated.
Assists in training of new staff.
Assumes all other duties and responsibilities as necessary.

Attends all mandatory education programs and can describe his or her responsibilities related to general safety and regulatory compliance.
Appearance is professional, neat, clean, and appropriate for the work environment. Wears proper photo identification badge while on duty.
Maintains confidentiality of all hospital and patient information at all times, as observed by peers and management.
Attends monthly staff meetings and participates in monthly rounding process with manager to assure effective and timely two-way communications.
Participates in and completes required department specific education and training programs and can describe his or her responsibilities related to department safety and specific job-related hazards.
Follows safety and security policies including exposure control plans/blood borne and airborne pathogens.

Is knowledgeable of patient rights and ensures an atmosphere which allows for the privacy, dignity and well-being of all patients in a safe, secure environment.
