About the role

The Registered Nurse plans and provides comprehensive patient care in the Emergency Department, managing nursing resources and collaborating with the healthcare team for quality, cost-effective care. This role involves providing individualized patient and family-focused care, evaluating responses to interventions, and initiating discharge and referral plans.

Black River Health has immediate openings for a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department.

This position Plans and provides comprehensive patient care.

Manages available nursing resources and collaborates with other members of the healthcare team to provide quality, cost-effective patient care.

This position is required to float to other nursing departments as necessary, to meet patient care needs.

This position is located at Black River Memorial Hospital:

SHIFT

Per Diem - Various Shifts (Primarily Nights), 24 hours per pay period, includes every 3rd weekend and holiday rotation

Essential Duties Include

  • Provides individualized patient and family-focused care throughout the patient’s stay.
  • Evaluates patient assessments and responses to interventions and take appropriate action according to established standards.
  • Participates in patient and family education as evidenced by teaching documentation on appropriate forms.
  • Delegates patient care activities to appropriate personnel and maintains accountability for those activities.
  • Initiates effective discharge and referral plans on admission utilizing appropriate organizational and community resources.
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge and demonstrates competence with required registered nurse competencies.

Educational Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Nursing required
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
  • BLS within 3 months of hire
  • ACLS and PALS within one year
  • ENPC and TNCC within two years
  • Current licensed Wisconsin Registered Nurse

Requirements

Candidates must possess a current licensed Wisconsin Registered Nurse status and an Associate degree in Nursing, with a BSN being preferred. Required certifications include BLS within 3 months, ACLS and PALS within one year, and ENPC and TNCC within two years.
