The Respite worker offers relief to families of children with special health care needs by providing one-to-one direct care, implementing safety and service plans, and facilitating socialization opportunities. Duties vary based on the specific needs of each child and include performing necessary self-care tasks and providing approved transportation.
Applicants must be 18 years or older and possess a High School Diploma or equivalent, along with a valid driver's license and a good driving record. Qualifications are further determined by individual family needs per state regulations, and the role requires the ability to work with minimal supervision.
$19.00 per hour The Respite worker provides families of children with special health care needs a relief from their responsibilities by providing one to one direct care for their child within or outside the home by implementing a safety and service plan. All duties will vary depending on the specific needs of each child. Parent/caretaker will provide all training specific to their child. Safety plan must be reviewed and implemented when necessary. Provide ON CALL safe one to one direct care per the plan for children with special health care needs as directed by parents/caretakers. Provide socialization opportunities within home and/or outside of home when appropriate. Perform all necessary self-care tasks as needed by the individual supported. Provide transportation to and from all social activities only as approved by parent/caretaker. Provide required documentation to coordinator in a timely manner
