The Medical Assistant is responsible for receiving and preparing patients for examination and treatment, which involves taking vital signs, documenting history, and assisting the provider during procedures. Under supervision, the role performs general medical services such as administering medication and conducting diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
Candidates must possess a High School diploma or GED and have graduated from an accredited medical assistant program, along with required certifications (NRCMA, RMA, CMA, NCMA, or CCMA), or two years of relevant experience which can substitute initially. Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification is also required or must be obtained within three months of hire.
