The Medical Assistant is responsible for receiving and preparing patients for medical examinations and treatment, which includes taking vital signs and medical/social history. They will also assist the provider with examinations, treatment, and entering clinical data into the electronic health record.
Successful candidates must have a High School diploma or GED and be a graduate of an accredited medical assistant program, or meet specific experience substitution requirements. Certification (NRCMA, RMA, CMA, NCMA, or CCMA) is required, or candidates must be able to obtain it, along with current or pending BLS certification.
As a Medical Assistant for Swope Health Services, you are a part of a team of caregivers to provide care for the people who need it most. You are responsible for receiving and preparing patients for medical examinations and treatment.
This includes taking vital signs, and medical and social history, assisting the provider with the examination and treatment, and entering clinical data into the electronic health record. Under the general supervision of a medical provider, you will perform general medical services such as medication administration, and diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
