The Physical Therapy Assistant is responsible for providing competent treatment to in-patients and/or out-patients in compliance with hospital policies, standards, and the APTA Code of Ethics, under the direction of a Physical Therapist. This involves providing intervention to individuals experiencing functional loss or deficiency due to illness, impairment, or disability, partnering with patients and families in the rehabilitation process.
Required education includes a High School Diploma/GED and an Associate's degree, with a Bachelor's or Master's degree also listed as potentially relevant. Candidates must possess a State of Florida Physical Therapy Assistant License or be license-eligible and hold a Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification; a minimum of one year of outpatient experience is preferred.
The Per Diem Acute Care Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) provides physical therapy treatments to adult and geriatric patients in an acute care hospital setting under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist. This role supports patient mobility, functional independence, and safe discharge planning while collaborating with an interdisciplinary healthcare team. Essential
