The ED Technician II provides direct patient care across all age groups under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Physician, assisting with transfers, repositioning, transportation, and obtaining necessary supplies or specimens. Key duties include performing cardiac monitoring (EKGs), assisting with IV starts, providing equipment for complex procedures, intervening with CPR, performing wound care, and reporting to the responsible Registered Nurse.
The minimum requirement is a High School Diploma or GED, along with one year of experience in an Emergency Department setting. Candidates must possess a Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification from the American Heart Association and preferably hold an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification from the NREMT.
