The role involves performing Multiple Sleep Latency Tests (MSLT), Electroencephalograms (EEG), Multiple Wakefulness Tests (MWT), and general Sleep Studies, along with associated support and maintenance functions. The position may also include providing clinical supervision to others.
Required education includes successful completion of an accredited Polysomnography program leading to an Associate degree or a program of at least one year, along with Registered Polysomnographic Technologist certification or RRT/RCP status, and BCLS certification. No previous experience is required, though one year post-graduation experience is preferred.
Summary of Performance Expectations. Performs MSLT, EEG, MWT and Sleep Studies and related support and maintenance functions. May provide clinical supervision.
Required Successful completion of an accredited educational program leading to an Associate degree with an emphasis in Polysomnography or successful completion of a Polysomnography program of no less than one year duration associated with a state licensed and/or a nationally accredited educational facility or equivalent experience and documented proficiency at all competencies required of a Polysomnographic Technician AND Certification by the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists as a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist or equivalent or a Registered Respiratory Therapist RRT / Respiratory Care Practitioner RCP. BCLS Certification from the American Heart Association.
Preferred Training in Neurodiagnostic procedures.
Required No previous experience required.
Preferred One year experience after graduation.
