The Polysomnographic Technologist performs comprehensive sleep testing and analysis, working with medical leadership and staff to ensure optimal efficiency in sleep disorder testing and scoring. This role also involves providing supervision to a Polysomnographic Trainee.
A high school diploma or equivalent is required, along with meeting one of several educational/experience criteria, such as an associate’s degree in an allied health field or six months as a sleep trainee. Candidates must obtain a major certification like RPSGT, SDS, or RST within 24 months of hire, in addition to holding a current CPR certification.
The Polysomnographic Technologist works collectively with the Medical Director, Leadership, staff and patients to achieve optimal efficiency and success in sleep disorder testing and scoring. Performs comprehensive sleep testing / analysis and associated interventions under the general supervision of the Leader, Medical Director, or designee. Provide supervision of a Polysomnographic Trainee.
Education: An associate’s degree in an allied healthcare field (respiratory care or neuro-diagnostics). Other skills/knowledge: Analytical skills necessary to collect and analyze quantitative and qualitative statistical data and conduct diagnostic procedures.
