The role involves providing technical first and second assistance during surgical procedures under physician supervision, focusing on exposure, hemostasis, and closure to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Responsibilities also include performing necessary preoperative and postoperative duties and maintaining a safe perioperative environment.
Candidates must meet specific educational requirements for Surgical Assistant, Physician Assistant (Master's degree required), or RNFA (accredited RN program plus RNFA program completion). Required experience includes 2+ years of Perioperative nursing experience for RNFA, and 1+ years as a PA is strongly preferred for the PA role.
