Performs specimen procurement, processing, and laboratory support functions to meet departmental turnaround time standards. Acts as a resource and trainer for other specimen processor phlebotomists while maintaining patient PHI security.
Requires a high school equivalent or GED, with a preference for formal phlebotomy or medical assistant training and 1+ years of experience. A Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) certification is preferred.

Takes responsibility for self-development. Working knowledge of pre-analytic laboratory and safety policies and procedures. Displays initiative to perform job duties. Competent on venipuncture, heel stick, and fingerstick for all ages.
