The intern performs technical, clinical, and clerical duties under pharmacist supervision, including maintaining confidential reports, data entry, preparing various intravenous medications, refilling dispensing cabinets, and procuring supplies. They also assist pharmacists with clinical activities to support professional development.
Candidates must be actively enrolled in an accredited college of pharmacy and possess a High School Diploma; eligibility for a technician license or limited pharmacist (intern) license is required. Prior experience volunteering or working in a hospital pharmacy is considered a plus.

Under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist, Clinical Pharmacist Supervisor, or the Director of Pharmacy, performs a wide variety of technical, clinical, and clerical duties for the hospital-wide unit-dose drug distribution system and intravenous admixture program. Responsible for maintaining confidential reports; entering and retrieving data utilizing the pharmacy information system; preparing intravenous medications including chemotherapeutic preparations, hyperalimentations, and antibiotics; refilling automated dispensing cabinets with unit dose medications; procuring and filling requests for pharmaceutical supplies; delivering medications and supplies to nursing units; and assisting pharmacists with clinical activities to foster professional development.
