SAGE Veterinary Centers – Redwood City is seeking a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) to join our Oncology team. This role is ideal for experienced veterinary technicians who are passionate about advanced medicine and compassionate patient care. Oncology training is available for strong Emergency, ICU, and Internal Medicine technicians looking to transition into specialty oncology.

Deliver exceptional nursing care to oncology patients before, during, and after treatment.
Administer medications, IV fluids, chemotherapy support therapies, and prescribed treatments.
Place IV catheters, collect blood samples, perform venipuncture, and run laboratory diagnostics.
Assist with anesthesia including patient preparation, induction, monitoring, recovery, and equipment maintenance.
Prepare and process laboratory samples while accurately recording diagnostic results.
Monitor hospitalized patients and promptly communicate changes in patient condition.
Educate clients through discharge appointments, follow-up communication, and home care instructions.
Prepare medications and IV infusions while maintaining strict safety protocols.
Safely handle and restrain patients using low-stress handling techniques.
Maintain accurate medical records and treatment documentation.
Collaborate closely with veterinary oncologists, technicians, assistants, and client care teams to deliver outstanding patient outcomes.
Contribute to a positive, supportive hospital culture focused on excellence in specialty medicine.
What You Bring
Five or more years of veterinary medicine experience.
Current California Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) license preferred.
Strong venipuncture and IV catheter placement skills.
Ability to accurately calculate medication dosages, CRIs, client estimates, and invoices.
Experience working in a fast-paced specialty or emergency environment.
CT experience is a plus.
Excellent client communication and education skills, particularly for discharges and follow-up care.
Strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and commitment to exceptional patient care.
Oncology experience is welcome, but oncology training is provided for strong Emergency, ICU, and Internal Medicine technicians.
