Position Summary

The Young Adult Access Center is a low barrier drop- in site that offers a welcoming, staffed space where young adults (ages 16-26) with mental health needs can find a supportive community, develop leadership skills, and get the help they need to pursue their life goals. Access Centers are open to all members of the community in which they are located. The Part Time, Master’s level clinician who provides clinical support to the Young Adult Access Center (YAAC) team, assists with treatment referrals, and supports staff in responding to crisis and traumatic incidences. Oversees and coordinates clinical planning, program activities, supports and services for Young Adults.

Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with Program Director to oversee the eligibility, intake, and assessment process to meet Young Adult (YA) needs.
  • Provide clinical oversight to program assuring evidence-based methodologies including Transition to Independence (TIP) are utilized and clinical services and supports for Young Adults and their families (when indicated) are family and community based, culturally competent and driven by the strengths of individuals.
  • Identify staff and YA/family training needs and conduct/coordinate training/workshops.
  • Provide on-going orientation, consultation, and in-services to YAAC staff.
  • Develop and model collaborative and partnership-oriented relationships with YAs/families/team members.
  • Liaise with other CSR programs, community agencies and resources, schools, state personnel, and others as assigned to assure a wide array of clinical supports are available and to represent the program on clinical matters as necessary.
  • Support YAAC staff in response to crises and traumatic incidences.
  • Attend DMH and other appropriate meetings as assigned.
  • Attend required trainings and demonstrate continued growth and competency.
  • Perform duties to reflect agency policies and procedures.
  • Perform other related work duties as needed or as assigned by supervisor or designee.
  • Execute duties to reflect reasonable safety standards. Standard/universal precautions must be utilized, and training obtained in areas that constitute risk.

Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in a clinical discipline (i.e. Social Work, Clinical/Counseling Psychology, Marriage and Family, Mental Health Counseling. LADC, CADAC etc.)
  • Experience working clinically with individuals with complex behavioral and emotional needs required.
  • Experience working with Young Adults preferred.
  • Knowledge and understanding TIP/AMP/Wraparound preferred.
  • Ability to collaborate with Young Adults/families in the development and delivery of services.
  • Experience with working collaboratively with state agencies and community providers.

Requirements

Candidates must possess a Master's Degree in a clinical discipline such as Social Work or Counseling Psychology, along with required experience working clinically with individuals facing complex behavioral and emotional needs.
