The Patient Care Assistant (PCA) functions as a non-licensed team member supporting the registered nurse by providing direct care to designated patients. Duties include assisting with activities of daily living, mobility support, continuous observation, and maintaining a clean and orderly patient environment.
Candidates must possess current Basic Life Support certification and knowledge appropriate to the age of patients served, along with proficiency in interpersonal and communication skills. The role demands constant mental awareness, the ability to handle high stress, and the capacity to exercise judgment and manage a high workload effectively.
