We are seeking a Spanish-Bilingual HIV/STI Prevention Specialist who is passionate about community health and committed to expanding access to prevention services. In this role, you will help individuals access HIV/STI/HCV education, testing, and prevention resources, while supporting patients in overcoming barriers to care and improving their overall health. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys community outreach, health education, and helping underserved populations access care. No prior HIV prevention experience is required, training will be provided. Candidates with experience as a Patient Navigator or Health Educator are encouraged to apply. Key Responsibilities Provide sexual health education on HIV, STIs, HCV, PrEP, and PEP Connect individuals to HIV/STI/HCV testing and prevention services Serve as a Patient Navigator and Health Educator, helping patients understand and access healthcare services Support patients with care navigation, appointment scheduling, and follow-up Conduct community outreach and educational presentations Assess social determinants of health and connect patients to support services Coordinate care with healthcare providers and program staff Maintain accurate documentation and program data in the electronic medical record system Education Associate’s degree accepted Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) or coursework at this level preferred What Matters Most Willing to learn and grow Passionate about working with diverse populations Comfortable discussing sexual health topics with sensitivity and care Interested in healthcare and health education Tech-savvy and able to use digital tools efficiently Caring, empathetic, and able to build strong connections with patients A demonstrated work history in any field, reflecting reliability and responsibility Qualifications Fluent in English and Spanish Strong interpersonal and communication skills Ability to work in a team-based healthcare environment Strong organizational and multitasking skills Cultural sensitivity and commitment to serving diverse communities, including LGBTQ+ populations Experience with computers and electronic medical records preferred Preferred Experience Health education, patient navigation/advocacy/case management, outreach Experience working in healthcare, public health, or social services settings Experience with electronic medical records or data tracking/management Requirements Valid New York State driver’s license Daily access to a reliable vehicle for community outreach Why Join Open Door?
