The Ultrasound Technologist operates ultrasound equipment to create quality images of the fetus and female pelvis under physician supervision, conducting fetal surveillance and antenatal monitoring. They also assist the supervising physician with invasive procedures and electronically record images, providing preliminary findings.
A Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer certification specializing in OB/GYN is required, with Fetal Echocardiography being preferred. Candidates must have a degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or Radiologic Technology and typically 3 years of preferred clinical ultrasound experience.
