The role involves utilizing nursing knowledge for basic preventive, therapeutic, and rehabilitative care for assigned patients, including the accurate administration of medication and observing client responses. Essential functions also include maintaining communication between the client, staff, and physician, completing administrative tasks like prior authorizations, and giving punctual change of shift reports.
Candidates must possess two years of freedom from chemical use problems and successfully pass a State of Minnesota Background Check. CPR Certification is required or must be obtained within 30 days of employment, alongside proficiency in Microsoft Office programs and general computer skills.

(Essential Functions) Utilize nursing knowledge and skills in the safe implementation of basic preventive therapeutic and rehabilitative nursing care of assigned patients as evidenced by documentation and observation of positive patient care outcomes. Perform delegated independent nursing functions using established procedures, policies, guidelines and standards as observed by the Nurse Manager and Director of Nursing. Administer medication accurately, observing client response, as evidenced by documentation in the medical record and lack of negative outcomes. Maintain and coordinate communication among client, staff and physician as evidenced within medical record, client and health care team feedback. Client Admissions Narcotics Count Completing Prior Authorizations MAR audits and compliance Assist in assuring that effective communication exists with patients as reflected in the plan of care. Give punctual change of shift report consisting of pertinent and relevant information for assigned patients. Work collaboratively with other members of the health care team in coordination of the patient's care as evidenced by other department feedback. Answer and refer telephone calls or other inquiries to ensure accurate and timely communications are facilitated.
