The Respiratory Therapist provides primary respiratory care from admission through discharge under physician's orders, participating in daily planning via patient rounds as part of the interdisciplinary team. Responsibilities also include timely communication of patient information, accurate documentation, and ensuring the safe operation of equipment using appropriate infection control techniques.
Candidates must possess an Associate's degree in Respiratory Therapy, hold an RRT License in Illinois, and have five years of experience in an ICU setting, along with current BLS and PALS certifications. Two years of pediatric experience is preferred.
The Respiratory Therapist gets the opportunity to participate in daily planning via patient rounds. You'll work as part of the interdisciplinary team for the plan of care for our patients. You'll be able to increase your knowledge in orthopaedic care to improve outcomes for our amazing patients and families. Our Respiratory Therapists have the opportunity for academic growth through participation in research projects. Required: Associate Respiratory Therapy 5 Years RT experience in ICU setting RRT License in state of Illinois Basic Life Support (BLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications from American Heart Association Preferred: 2 Year Pediatric experience
