The Surgical Technologist prepares and assists with surgical procedures during the intraoperative phase while maintaining a sterile field. They are also responsible for processing and wrapping instruments in Sterile Processing to ensure surgical readiness.
Candidates must be a graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program, be a Certified Surgical Technologist, and hold BLS certification. Preferred qualifications include at least one year of acute care hospital experience and a background in pediatric or orthopedic care.
The Surgical Tech prepares and assists surgical procedures during the intraoperative phase of the perioperative process. Responsible for providing for and anticipating the surgeons’ needs during a procedure while maintaining the sterile field, adhering to principles of aseptic technique, and ensuring safety with all counted items. Assists preparation for procedures by assisting with completion, wrapping, and processing of instruments in Sterile Processing. This is not an all-inclusive list of this job’s responsibilities. The incumbent may be required to perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
Required: Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program Certified Surgical Technologist BLS certification (or obtained within 3 months of employment) Preferred: Minimum of one-year experience as a Surgical Technologist in an acute care hospital operating room Pediatric and/or orthopaedic experience
