Position overview

MDPerm is seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Psychiatrist to provide comprehensive onsite psychiatric services at the Lt. Col. Luke Weathers, Jr. VA Medical Center.

This position supports Veterans in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment, delivering care consistent with state-of-the-art civilian medical standards.

Key responsibilities

Clinical duties (95%)
Provide inpatient and outpatient psychiatric care
Conduct psychiatric evaluations, diagnosis, and treatment planning
Manage admissions, ongoing treatment, and discharge/transfer of patients
Provide follow-up care and consult services, including e-consults
Treat patients with severe and complex mental health conditions
Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation

Clinic and program support
Collaborate with VA mental health staff and interdisciplinary teams
Support specialty programs, including PTSD clinic, residential programs, and case management services
Maintain a consistent presence during scheduled clinic hours

Administrative duties (5%)
Participate in peer reviews, case reviews, and quality assurance activities
Attend required staff meetings
Ensure compliance with VA policies and performance standards
