Medical Assistants (MA) at Lynn Community Health Center (LCHC) deliver high-touch care as integral members of the integrated care team in a patient-centered health home. LCHC MA’s continually embrace and adopt increasingly dynamic and complex responsibilities to meet the demands of an ever-evolving healthcare marketplace and the integration of innovation in patient care delivery. The MA will perform a variety of patient care activities as a core member of an interdisciplinary health home team. Duties include managing provider flow, rooming patients, collecting vital signs and specimens, performing point of care testing and screenings, collecting components of the patient’s health history and psychosocial circumstances, preparing for patient care by recognizing needed screenings, tests, and treatments, and placing appropriate orders in the patient health record.
As a core member of the multidisciplinary, integrated care team of the Recuperative Care Center/Complex Addictions services, the dual role of Medical Assistant/SUD navigator will provide high-quality, comprehensive clinical and nonclinical support services to patients in a variety of settings, ranging from medical respite, walk-in services, and mobile outreach. This role works collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to improve the patient experience and health outcomes by building community relationships, expanding access to services, and improving service delivery. The Medical Assistant/SUD Navigator is a primary contact for internal resources, community organizations and partners, and individuals living with substance use who need medical care. The Medical Assistant/SUD Navigator will adopt increasingly dynamic and complex responsibilities to meet the demands of an ever-evolving healthcare marketplace and integration of innovation in patient care delivery.
