This role is responsible for providing anesthetic, perioperative, and nursing support for patients undergoing diagnostic, surgical, and therapeutic procedures. This individual works closely with veterinarians and fellow nursing staff to ensure safe anesthetic management, accurate monitoring, thorough documentation, and excellent patient care from preparation through recovery.

A typical day may include reviewing the anesthesia schedule, preparing machines and monitoring equipment, checking drug protocols, and ensuring each patient is properly worked up and ready for their procedure.
Throughout the day, you may place IV catheters, induce and maintain anesthesia, monitor vital parameters, assist with advanced procedures, troubleshoot concerns in real time, and support safe, smooth recoveries.

Prepare patients, equipment, and medications for anesthesia and procedural support while ensuring procedural readiness and patient safety
Induce, maintain, monitor, and recover patients under anesthesia, including patient assessment support, catheter placement, intubation, monitoring, and recovery care
Recognize changes in patient status, communicate promptly with veterinarians, and adjust support as directed throughout procedures
Operate and troubleshoot anesthesia machines, ventilators, infusion pumps, and monitoring equipment while maintaining accurate anesthesia and treatment records
Support a clean, organized, and efficient workflow while collaborating with doctors, technicians, assistants, and other departments to ensure continuity of care

Candidates must have at least 1 year of experience with a boarded veterinary surgeon or 3+ years of surgery/anesthesia experience in general practice. A CVT, RVT, or LVT credential is preferred.
