Coastal Health Corporate - Orange Park, FL 32073Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) – Full-Time Coastal Health | Clay County, Florida Coastal Health is seeking a dedicated and motivated Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) to join our outpatient care team in the Clay County area. This position offers the opportunity to provide high-quality patient care in a collaborative clinical environment under the supervision of physicians and surgeons. The ideal candidate is compassionate, clinically skilled, and committed to delivering excellent patient outcomes while contributing to a supportive and growth-oriented workplace.

Position Summary

The APRN will provide comprehensive patient care, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up. This role involves working closely with physicians while maintaining autonomy within the scope of advanced nursing practice. Key Responsibilities Perform comprehensive physical examinations and assess patient health status Diagnose medical conditions and develop appropriate treatment plans Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests Prescribe medications and administer treatments Collaborate with physicians on complex cases and refer patients as needed Monitor patient progress and ensure continuity of care Triage patient calls and respond to clinical concerns in a timely manner Provide emergency care, including CPR, when necessary Educate patients and families on preventive care and treatment plans Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential medical records Contribute to data collection and reporting for clinical or research purposes as needed Qualifications Education & Licensure: Master’s degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program Current Florida RN license (or eligibility) Certification (or eligibility) as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) Experience: 1–3 years of experience in an outpatient clinical setting required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge: Strong understanding of clinical medicine, pharmacology, pathophysiology, and physical diagnosis Familiarity with the roles of physicians and nurse practitioners within a collaborative care model Proficiency in patient assessment, diagnosis, and care planning Skills: Ability to gather and analyze clinical, social, and emotional patient data Strong clinical judgment in both in-person and telephone triage scenarios Effective care planning and patient management skills Abilities: Ability to make sound clinical decisions within scope of practice Strong collaboration skills when working with physicians and healthcare teams Excellent communication skills for patient and family education Physical ability to perform clinical tasks requiring dexterity and coordination Benefits Coastal Health offers a competitive compensation and benefits package, including: Competitive salary Health, dental, and vision insurance Life insurance Short- and long-term disability coverage 401(k) retirement plan Up to 3 weeks of paid time off 7 paid holidays Opportunities for professional growth and advancement within the organization QualificationsEducation: MSN required. Successful completion of advanced practitioner training and certification as a practitioner (general or specialized) from an approved nurse practitioner program.

  • Knowledge: Knowledge of advanced practice of nursing including medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, pathophysiology, pharmacology and therapeutics, basic nutrition, behavioral factors, psychosocial/family systems, diagnostic testing, interpretation of results and clinical decision making, alternative treatment modalities. Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices and regulations related to evaluating and providing patient care, and professional ethics related to the delivery of nursing care. Knowledge of medical equipment and instruments used to administer patient care. Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish/maintain a safe work environment. Knowledge of health promotion, health risk identification, and patient education principles and techniques. Knowledge of community, professional, and educational resources. Knowledge of practice management systems including electronic health record systems (EHRs).

Skills

Skill in oral and written communication; interviewing to gather medical histories; providing presentations, consultations, facilitation, and documentation, e.g., writing medical orders, patient education materials, and medical record updates. Skill in case management, time management, problem solving, crisis intervention, multitasking, and other organizational matters. Skill in modifying methods and techniques of professional nursing to provide appropriate nursing care and in initiating appropriate emergency response and investigatory procedures.

Abilities

Ability to analyze complex data and draw conclusions. Ability to interpret, adapt, and apply guidelines and procedures. Ability to establish/maintain effective working relationships with patients, clinical staff, and the public. Ability to competently use Microsoft Office, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and appropriate practice management software.

Equipment

Operated: Standard medical examination room equipment and instruments. Using computer/health information management system.

Work

Environment: Combination of exam rooms and medical offices. Frequent exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medicinal preparations, and other conditions common to a clinic environment.

Physical

Requirements: Must possess the physical and mental abilities to perform the tasks normally associated with a Nurse Practitioner such as standing and walking for extensive periods of time. Lifts and carries items weighing up to 10 lbs., occasionally lifts or moves up to 100 lbs. Requires correct vision and hearing to normal range. Requires working under stress in emergency situations and occasionally may involve irregular working hours.

Requirements

Candidates must hold a Master's degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program and possess a current Florida RN license. A minimum of 1-3 years of experience in an outpatient clinical setting is required, along with certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner.
