• Position Overview The Certified Medication Aide (CMA/CMT) plays an important role in supporting the health and wellbeing of our residents.
• This position is responsible for safely administering medications, monitoring residents for changes in condition, and assisting with daily care needs.
• The Medication Aide works closely with the nursing team and caregivers to ensure residents receive compassionate, person-centered care.
• Key Responsibilities Administer medications in accordance with physician orders, state regulations, and community policies.
• Accurately document medication administration and maintain medication records.
• Observe residents for changes in condition and report concerns to the nurse or leadership team.
• Assist residents with activities of daily living such as dressing, grooming, and mobility as needed.
• Support residents during meals and ensure proper nutrition and hydration.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for residents.
• Communicate effectively with caregivers, nurses, and leadership regarding resident care needs.
• Follow infection control and safety procedures at all times.
• Provide compassionate support and redirection for residents experiencing dementia-related behaviors.
• Promote resident dignity, comfort, and quality of life.

Qualifications

Certified Medication Aide (CMA/CMT) certification in good standing. Experience in assisted living, memory care, or long-term care preferred. Knowledge of medication administration procedures and documentation. Strong attention to detail and communication skills. Compassion, patience, and a passion for caring for individuals living with dementia. Ability to work well as part of a team in a fast-paced caregiving environment. Working Environment This position operates within a memory care residential setting and involves frequent interaction with residents, families, and staff. Light lifting and assisting residents with mobility may be required.
