The Certified Medical Assistant provides direct patient care, including taking vital signs, performing physical tests, and preparing treatment rooms. They also manage administrative duties such as maintaining medical records, handling phone calls, and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations.
Candidates must hold a Medical Assistant Certification or Registration and possess a high school diploma or equivalent. One year of prior experience in a medical setting is preferred.
The Certified Medical Assistant is responsible for providing high quality direct patient care and assisting providers and other clinical staff with patient care and other clinical and administrative duties in a professional manner. Ability to competently and skillfully perform all clinical and clerical functions including, but not limited to: vital signs, patient interview, electronic documentation, screening tools, lab/specimen prep, point of care collection and processing. Must provide age-appropriate care in a manner that demonstrates an understanding of the functional/developmental age of the patient served.

Certified Medical Assistant Essential Functions: Completes a broad variety of administrative tasks and clinical duties including but not limited to obtaining and recording patient medical histories, receiving, and directing phone calls, ensuring successful completion of all forms Maintaining medical supplies inventory and performing preventive maintenance to keep the medical equipment operating Preparing patients for examination by performing physical tests, take vitals, reporting patient history summary Preparing treatment rooms for clinical examinations Delivering attention, compassionate support, and assistance to patients and families Ensuring compliance with all healthcare regulations including HIPPA, OSHA, etc. Aides staff, physicians, and other faculty as needed Performs additional job-related duties as assigned
Firm grasp on medical practices, administrative processes, and organizational policies Strong interpersonal and communication skills Proficient in administrative tasks Must be highly organized and detail-oriented; demonstrating leadership to maintain credibility Familiarity with medical terminology and digital record systems Ability to communicate effectively and verbalize ideas Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion, be adaptable to various competing demands and demonstrates the highest level of customer/client service and response Demonstrates ability to achieve high performance goals and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Medical Assistant Certification or Registration required High school diploma or equivalent required One year of prior experience in a medical setting preferred
