The Pharmacy Technician will assist with prescription processing, medication dispensing, and maintaining accurate patient profiles under pharmacist supervision. They are also responsible for managing inventory, ensuring regulatory compliance, and providing excellent communication to patients and healthcare providers.

About This Role

  • Prescription
  • Processing &
  • Dispensing: Assists with reading, interpreting, and processing prescriptions under pharmacist supervision, including counting, pouring, reconstituting medications, selecting containers, and labeling. Verifies correct prescriptions at pickup and accepts payment.
  • Patient &
  • Provider
  • Communication: Maintains accurate patient profiles and communicates with prescribers for refills and insurance carriers to resolve claims. Triages phone calls and assists patients at drop-off and pick-up.
  • Inventory &
  • Workflow
  • Management: Maintains medication and supply inventory, orders non-CII items, removes expired or unclaimed medications, and supports inventory preparation. Upholds safety and labeling standards, especially for lookalike/sound-alike drugs.
  • Compliance &
  • Record
  • Keeping: Ensures regulatory compliance through accurate documentation, proper record archiving, daily/monthly reporting, and refrigerator temperature logs. Follows corporate compliance and loss prevention policies.
  • Professionalism &
  • Training: Maintains active Pharmacy Technician License, supports technician student training, stays informed on industry updates, and contributes to a clean and organized work environment.

Schedule

  • Monday - Thursday, 8am - 7pm open availability; and
  • Friday, 8am - 5pm

  • Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB), preferred
  • Completion of a Florida approved pharmacy technician program
  • Licenses, Certification or Registration
  • State of Florida Pharmacy Technician Registration, required

Requirements

Candidates must hold a High School Diploma or equivalent and a State of Florida Pharmacy Technician Registration. Completion of a Florida-approved pharmacy technician program is required, and PTCB certification is preferred.
