The Psychiatrist is responsible for conducting diagnostic assessments, performing mental status examinations, and developing treatment plans for patients. They also provide crisis intervention, medication management, and collaborate with medical staff to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Candidates must hold a Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree and be Board Eligible or Board Certified in Psychiatry. A valid New York State medical license and registration are required for this position.
The Psychiatrist, in the outpatient division is responsible to provide diagnostic assessment, treatment and crisis intervention for patients admitted to the inpatient units. This includes an initial psychiatric evaluation, mental status examination and diagnostic formulation, progress notes as per the departments recording standards, which describes patient observation, therapy rendered and course of treatment.
