Assistant is expected to perform the following essential functions:
Assist patients with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and personal hygiene
Maintain clean, safe, and comfortable patient environments, including changing bed linens
Take and accurately record vital signs, reporting any concerns to nursing staff
Measure and document patient intake and output as directed
Assist with feeding, including meal setup and supporting patients as needed
Safely transfer, reposition, and transport patients using proper techniques
Support patient mobility and ambulation under the direction of nursing staff
Assist in preparing patients for exams and treatments
Provide comfort measures such as warm/cold compresses
Respond promptly and respectfully to patient call lights and requests
Observe, report, and document changes in patient condition
Maintain patient dignity, privacy, and confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA
Contribute to a safe, clean, and efficient care environment
Work collaboratively with team members and support other departments as needed
Participate in required trainings, in-services, and staff meetings
Perform other duties as assigned Skills, Qualifications, and Competencies
Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic accurately
