• Type: Full TimeBoone Memorial Hospital is seeking a skilled and compassionate Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dynamic team. Essential Functions As an ED RN, you will play a vital role in delivering safe, high-quality, patient-centered care:
• Perform triage and prioritize patients based on acuity using established protocols
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans
• Recognize changes in patient condition and respond rapidly with appropriate interventions
• Provide emergency treatments including IV therapy, wound care, and life support stabilization
• Administer and document medications safely and accurately
• Assist physicians with exams, procedures, and diagnostic testing
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans, medications, and follow-up care
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the electronic medical record
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal outcomes
• Ensure compliance with EMTALA, infection control, and patient safety standards
• Support efficient patient flow, including admissions, discharges, and transfers Skills, Qualifications, and Competencies
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• Active West Virginia RN License
• Emergency Department or acute care experience preferred
• Strong critical thinking, multitasking, and prioritization skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Experience with electronic health record systems Certifications Required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) – Required
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) – Within 6 months
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) – Within 6 months
• Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) – Within 1 year Physical Requirements
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
• Lift up to 50 lbs using proper techniques
