Job Summary Arrow ARC is seeking an experienced Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) to provide high-quality perioperative care to patients undergoing surgical procedures at the Atlanta VA Health System. The OR RN will function both independently and under the guidance of the Nurse Manager or designee, ensuring surgical asepsis, patient safety, and collaboration with surgeons and anesthesia care providers. The ideal candidate must be proficient in circulating and scrubbing roles and demonstrate expertise in managing surgical procedures across multiple specialties.
Provide post-anesthesia care to patients recovering from surgical procedures. Monitor patients’ vital signs and recovery progress. Administer medications and provide emergency care as needed. Equipment and Safety: Use and maintain OR mechanical equipment such as electro-surgical units, fracture tables, suction devices, and nerve stimulators. Check all emergency supplies and equipment per unit routine. Maintain good body mechanics and use safety protective devices to prevent injury. Documentation and Communication: Complete and accurate documentation of surgical procedures and patient care. Demonstrate positive and effective interpersonal skills in communication with patients, families, and the surgical team.
Licensure: Current, unrestricted RN license from any state in the United States.
Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)/Basic Life Support (BLS) certificate accredited by the American Heart Association. Current Advanced Cardiopulmonary Life Support (ACLS) certificate accredited by the American Heart Association.
Candidates must hold a current, unrestricted RN license and possess at least three years of recent operating room experience. Required certifications include BLS and ACLS, with CNOR certification being highly preferred.
