The Speech Pathologist II provides direct and indirect patient care, primarily for pediatric and adolescent patients. Responsibilities include conducting evaluations, establishing therapeutic goals, and implementing intervention programs for patients who are deaf or hard of hearing.
Candidates must possess a degree in Speech Language Pathology and at least 12 months of experience as a licensed therapist. Additionally, applicants must hold or be eligible for California state licensure and CPR certification.
The Staff Speech Language Pathologist, Speech Pathologist II, reports to the Rehab Service Manager and provides both direct and indirect patient care services. The Staff Speech Language Pathologist II works primarily with pediatric and adolescent patients from diverse socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds, although adult patients may also be treated. Under general direction and upon receipt of written referrals, the Staff Speech Language Pathologist II plans and administers a full range of speech therapy services for patients who are deaf and hard of hearing. Services include patient evaluations using speech language pathology tests and measurements, establishment of therapeutic intervention goals and development of therapeutic intervention programs, and implementation of therapeutic intervention plans utilizing all aspects of the speech language pathology scope of practice.
