The LPN performs nursing tasks and provides direct patient care for diverse populations under the supervision of a registered nurse. They implement technical nursing procedures, assist with patient education, and document care while collaborating with the healthcare team.
Candidates must be graduates of a State board School of Practical Nursing with current Alabama or multi-state licensure. BLS certification is required before the conclusion of the orientation period.
Overview The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) performs a broad array of nursing tasks under the supervision of a registered nurse or provider. The individual provides direct patient care for diverse patient populations that vary in gender, age, socioeconomic status, education, physical and mental abilities, locations, sexual lifestyle, and racial and ethnic background. The LPN implements technical nursing procedures according to established policies and procedures and plan of care, assists and reinforces routine patient education, and documents patient care appropriately. The LPN communicates and interacts with other team members to facilitate teamwork and delivery of quality care.
Education: Graduate of State board School of Practical Nursing with current Alabama or multi-state licensure.
