Community Veterinary Partners (CVP) is seeking an exceptional Traveling Veterinarian (DVM) with a strong interest or background in diagnostic ultrasound to join our highly collaborative hospital network. This is a traveling role supporting hospitals throughout Pennsylvania by providing high-quality veterinary ultrasound services, diagnostic support, and collaborative case management.

If you are passionate about diagnostic imaging, advanced medicine, and patient care and want to fully utilize your ultrasound skills while working alongside some of the brightest professionals in veterinary medicine we would love to connect.

About the Role

The Traveling Veterinarian – Ultrasound Focus plays a critical role in supporting internal medicine, cardiology, emergency, and critical care services across CVP hospitals. In this role, you will serve as a diagnostic imaging resource, performing and interpreting ultrasound studies while collaborating closely with hospital teams, specialists, and leadership.

This role is ideal for a confident, adaptable veterinarian who enjoys variety, autonomy, and making an immediate clinical impact across multiple hospital environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ultrasound & Diagnostic Services
  • Perform abdominal ultrasounds and provide interpretation and documentation
  • Perform echocardiograms, including image acquisition and measurements (based on experience and training)
  • Collaborate with referring veterinarians regarding diagnostic findings and case recommendations
  • Assist with interventional and advanced diagnostic procedures as needed
  • Ensure high standards of image quality, patient safety, and diagnostic accuracy
  • Education & Experience Requirements
  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM or VMD) from an AVMA-accredited veterinary school
  • Active (or eligible) Pennsylvania veterinary license
  • Clinical experience with veterinary ultrasound preferred
  • Advanced ultrasound training, mentorship, or certification strongly preferred
  • Strong diagnostic and clinical judgment
  • Ability to work independently and adapt to different hospital workflows
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Comfortable traveling between hospitals throughout Pennsylvania

Requirements

Candidates must hold a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM or VMD) degree from an AVMA-accredited school and possess an active or eligible Pennsylvania veterinary license. Strong clinical experience with veterinary ultrasound and the ability to travel between multiple hospital sites are required.
