The Unit Clerk Nurse Aide performs secretarial duties and supports nursing staff by providing basic patient care, such as feeding, bathing, and monitoring vital signs. They are responsible for maintaining a safe environment and ensuring patient needs are met through purposeful hourly rounding.
Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent and either a Nurse Aide training program completion or six months of relevant healthcare experience. Proficiency in medical terminology and data entry is required, along with BLS certification within three months of hire.
30 pm - 7:00am
Under the direction of a Registered Nurse, performs the receptionist and secretarial duties on the unit assigned. Meets the communication needs of the patient (family, departmental staff and medical staff). Supports the nursing staff by performing basic nursing care to the patient. Assist and maintains a safe and clean work environment. Maintains patient privacy, dignity, confidentiality, and respects patients rights. Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Performs purposeful hourly rounding including: Pain, Position, Personal needs, and Possessions Promptly answer’s telephone/call lights in a polite manner and relaying pertinent information to the appropriate staff Assists nursing staff by making patient beds, giving baths, passing waters, feeding patients, oral care, accurate I & O, ambulating patients, daily weights, and vital signs and any other duties assigned by the RN
