Ophthalmic Technician

Equipment & Inventory Management Cleans and maintains exam and procedure rooms in accordance with infection control and sanitization standards.

Ensures proper functioning and care of diagnostic equipment; reports any issues promptly.

Monitors and replenishes room supplies, reporting shortages to the appropriate supervisor.

Compliance & Confidentiality Adheres to HIPAA, OSHA, and company safety and confidentiality standards.

Maintains professional and ethical conduct in all patient interactions.

Supports compliance with organizational policies and procedures.

Team Support Collaborates with peers to support consistent clinical standards and patient experience across all locations.

Assists with training and onboarding of new technicians as requested.

Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.

Requirements

MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE High school diploma or equivalent required. Prior medical office or healthcare experience preferred; ophthalmic or optometric technician experience strongly preferred. Proficiency with ophthalmic diagnostic equipment and electronic health records (EHR) systems preferred. Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA[EA1.1]) credential preferred. Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Ability to work independently while maintaining a cooperative and professional team approach. Requires bending, stooping, stretching, and occasional lifting of up to 30 pounds. Eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate ophthalmic testing equipment, keyboards, and other office devices. Requires normal range of hearing, vision, and speech to communicate effectively in person, by phone, and through digital platforms. Ability to maintain focus and composure in a fast-paced clinical environment.
